Choosing Your Steak
The best cuts for grilling are:
- Ribeye – Rich, marbled, full of flavor
- New York Strip – Tender with a nice fat cap
- Filet Mignon – Extremely tender, leaner
- T-Bone – Best of both worlds
What You Need
- Steak of your choice (1-1.5 inches thick)
- Coarse salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Fresh rosemary and thyme
- 3 cloves garlic, smashed
Instructions
- Remove steak from refrigerator 30-45 minutes before cooking.
- Pat dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Preheat grill to high heat (450-500°F).
- Place steak on grill and don’t move it for 4-5 minutes.
- Flip once and cook another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare.
